Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and a chieftain of the opposition party, PDP, has slammed President Tinubu for his recent travel amid the rising insecurity in the country.
In a strongly worded statement, Atiku criticized Tinubu for what he perceives as inaction on the part of the Commander-in-Chief, calling on him to step up and take responsibility for the escalating security challenges facing the nation.
In his statement, Atiku highlighted the recent kidnappings and killings that have shocked Nigerians, including the tragic incident in which a nursing mother and grandmother were killed in Abuja for failing to pay a hefty ransom.
He also mentioned the abduction of two traditional rulers in Ekiti state, among other tragic events that have become all too familiar in Nigeria.
According to Atiku, Nigeria needs a strong and proactive leader who is willing to take responsibility and protect the interests of its citizens.
