Zaya Wade, Dwyane Wade’s oldest daughter, has been granted the official permission to change both her name and gender in legal documents.
A court in the county of Los Angeles is tasked with approving Zaya’s new identity, at least according to the records that were obtained by TMZ TV.
According to the documents, Zava is going to be given a new birth certificate that reflects both her new name and her new gender.
The application for Zaya to alter both her name and gender was submitted in August of last year, and it was met with opposition from Zaya’s mother, Siohvaughn Funches Wade. In November, Siohvaughn opposed the petition by asserting that Zaya was under to financial pressure to decide whether or not to approve the petition.
