The Chelsea Football Club on Wednesday parted company with their head coach , Thomas Tuchel, following their UEFA Champions League group stage 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.
The Club announced this in a statement via its website, adding that the Blues’ coaching staff will temporarily take charge of the first team.
The development come as a shock to many, with Tuchel guiding Chelsea to winning the Champions League in recent years.
The statement read in part , “Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel.
“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.
“There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.” the statement added
