Chelsea :Tuchel accepts Lukaku’s apology, urge supporters to be calm

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the return of the Belgian Striker into the squad following his interview with sky sports

Lukaku who went rogue in an interview with sky sports was dropped by Thomas Tuchel following comments made to Italian media, but the coach claimed all has been forgiven

Tuchel on his meeting with Lukaku: “First of all, we were happy that we took the time needed to talk calmly on it. This is what we did. He apologised and he is back in the squad.”

He noted that “It was clear for us to understand that he did not do this intentionally. Also, this is the very first time that he behaved like this. There was never a slightest behaviour against the team. This was the first time we felt him this way.”

Tuchel on the Lukaku overcoming his interview in the eyes of Chelsea fans: “It is not as big as you or people want it to be. We accept his apology and move on. He is aware of the mess he created and feels responsible to clear it up. There may be a bit of a smell from it.”

“There are zero doubts about his commitment to the team and club.” He added

“We have to be adult enough to accept the apology.”

However, Tuchel pleads with Chelsea fans not to get too negative about Lukaku: “If somebody has a different opinion or disagrees, it is about the team in everything we do. I hope the supporters can take this also and keep on supporting the team. At the moment, we really need the support”
