Being at the helm of affairs of the Students’ union, We have learnt a lot from many of you and you have inspired us in many different ways. We are leaving here today with a wealth of knowledge we will always treasure. Working here has been a fantastic learning experience, and we are thankful for the modicum of experience we have garnered. We have learned how to take direction, criticism, and compliments. We have also learned to be open-minded, to value other people’s opinions and to consider other ideas along with us to end up with a great final result.

About Nine months ago when we took over the mantle of leadership of this great union, we knew truly well, it was quite challenging but we so much believed that with the cooperation of our members, we would overcome the challenges.

The specific achievements recorded include:

Inclusiveness in Government through open door policy. Constitution of various standing and adhoc committees and periodic interactive sessions with class reps and associations presidents has helped significantly in the involvement of great deal of our students in decision making.

Importantly, it must be mentioned, we thank God that a vision of about six (6) years was accomplished during this tenure. That is the purchase of a school bus! We appreciate the previous and present school management team, past and present students for being patners in progress and for taking such a step. It is indeed in the right direction.

These milestones wouldn’t have been achieved without the unflinching support of our Head of School, Mrs. Folasade Adediran – calm, but highly cerebral; a mother, a guider, a good advisor and a teacher. Her support in all areas are well appreciated and as Oliver Twist, I demand that she extends same gesture to the new set of executives.

I must acknowledge the students affairs officer, Mr. Omokanye, for his fatherly support every time. The love is not taken for granted and we assure you of our continual regards for your personality.

I must commend the tenacity of my executives, the SRC, members of the union committees and all other officials of the union, for not giving up on the mission to give the best as desired by our members, even when our programme was facing a turbulent sea of uncertainty, they all held their head strong as we navigate the leadership journey together. Our rewards are in the future, when we shall use the lessons learnt in higher leadership positions. Until then, I wish us all success in our future dealings.

I want to really thank all students of this great institution for their propitious, benevolent and altruistic support and I assure you that the leaders you chose are those who see leadership to register and indelible mark in the minds of the students.

With these, I charge the New Students’ Union executives to make impact which will make their trail be evergreen.
Students’ welfarism and peace at all time should be your priority and also prayers to make the school known globally positively will be needed.

I wish to commend the effort of all past leaders that have paddled the affairs of this great union. You will agree with me that the union has gone through turbulent periods owing to vested interest but these leaders did their best in establishing and maintaining our unity, peace and greatness.

My wish for everyone here is that you all continue to experience success, to feel fulfilled in all you do and that you all soar higher than humans’ imagination. Amen.

The Head of School Ma, the Students’ Affairs Officer, distinguished ladies and gentlemen; It’s been a pleasure serving as the SUG President, and I will genuinely miss it. I leave behind the meaningful impacts made in the lives of our members, I take with me the memories, skills and experience garnered. May I at this junction, request that I bow out of the office of the President, to face the foreseeable future – with God!

I thank you very much and God bless you all!
